Scan or Transfer Your Purchases

I realized that in my first post about the shopping list, I forgot to explain how I add my purchases to InvenDo after returning home.

The first option is to scan the product’s barcode. While on the Inventory tab, I scan the product using the Scan+ button and then manually remove it from the Shopping List.

The second option is to transfer purchased products from the Shopping List to Inventory. There are a few different situations to consider.

For example, I always keep frozen fish in the freezer and milk in the refrigerator. I buy these products regularly, so their storage locations are already saved in the app.

I tap the list icon in the top toolbar, select the products by checking the boxes next to them, and move several products to Inventory at once. Their previously saved storage locations and quantities are transferred automatically. I can adjust the quantity if necessary, but I need to enter the new expiration date manually.

However, the same product can sometimes be stored in different places. For example, I keep some chocolate in the cupboard and some in the refrigerator. Yes, I like the taste of chilled chocolate!

When a product is transferred to Inventory, it keeps its previously saved storage location. I check the location afterward and change it manually if necessary. It is therefore worth taking a moment to make sure the correct storage location has been selected.

There are two ways to add purchases to Inventory: scan them using Scan+ or transfer them from the Shopping List. If their storage locations are already known, several products can be moved at once. If a product can be stored in different places, its location should be checked after the transfer and changed manually if necessary.

Now, when I return from the store, I choose whichever method is most convenient for my purchases and immediately bring both my shopping list and the supplies I have at home up to date.
